Thank you, this was a fantastic thought process to follow. I may sound like a hippie here, but in my mind the issue isn’t the internet per se, but this is the penultimate form of capitalism as a value system. I don’t believe we need to stop using a financial system or even stop economic growth, but we very much need to stop basing our value system on it. If we change our beliefs to fundamentally value more aspects in life than money and power, there’s so much that will naturally change as a result all the way from friendships to corporations.

I have a confession, in part 1 when you brought up that someone said "being good has no market value" my first thought was "what can we do to raise its value?" still thinking in market logic, lol are we cooked?

I feel that this internal feedback loop built for capitalism and consumerism was optimized for very superficial means. The greed drives it and exponentially grows with those who interacts with the system. The “feedback” or selling point would be our reactions, desires,attention, and minds. I think there should be an emphasis on self reflection at an early stage and stop living vicariously through other people’s lives. Living each moment with intent instead of through a screen. Reflecting to build your identity early to better critique ideas presented digitally. Lastly, being grateful and having empathy and compassion for each other.
