All of the other attempts reminded me of Oedipus. Not in their motivations but in their attempts to control or force destiny. George is nothing if not consistent with regards to tragedy.

Is it possible that the eggs that Aeg had weren’t fertile? Was it ever specified which dragon bore the eggs? If they were the eggs laid by the Last Dragon, it might’ve been that those eggs weren’t ever fertile.

I kinda wanna feel bad for Targaryen men going mad for the prophecy if that's the case - but also it's men. So I don't. Anyways, Daenerys is my heart.

Would love to hear your thoughts on why you think Targaryen men are even able to be dragon dreamers

If you interpret the Pyre as the “amidst salt & smoke” (which same), I DO think there could be something to both Summerhall & Dragonstone matching that description as well—noticeably three different circumstances. Two of which directly involve Rhaella birthing a child, & two children who played significant roles in the prophecy as well (one obsessed by it, & the one who fulfills it). It’s a bit far-fetched to connect the castles to the Pyre, true, but I don’t think it’s inconsequential

I find it so ironic how the people in Qarth treated Daenerys. I'm pretty sure that the reason their women dress with one breast left bare is to honor Nissa Nissa's sacrifice. Yet there she was, Nissa Nissa/ Azor Ahai come again, and they rejected her, mocked her and tried to use her. Only Quaithe recognized her.

if targs didn’t hate their women the women dreamers would be excellent mentors and guide s for male dreamers i actually don’t think male dreamers were supposed to be super common that was a side effect of patriarchy

As you saying you believe that Nissa Nissa was the original Azor Ahai and the story changed over time to better fit the patriarchal narrative cause that would parallel Dany’s story so well especially with people (in story and out) believing that a man will be Azor Ahai

i think its worth thinking abt how all the "mad" Targaryens are men, while the Dragon Dreamers are women. makes me think, what if Dragon Dreams are like the prophesies of the Zhat Vash from Star Trek? the Zhat Vash all went completely insane, most didnt even survive initiation, and those few that did lived tortured lives and committed horrific atrocities because of their visions. but, the only reason the prophesies came with madness and terror, was because the message was never meant for them. the Zhat Vash were organic beings, and the message wasnt made for organics. it was meant as a message to synthetic lifeforms, not biological. for synthetics, the visions didnt come with madness or fear. i wonder if Dragon Dreams are the same for Targaryen men and women, like it makes the men go mad and they get tortured by their visions, while the women do not. problem is, Targaryen women (gender identity and orientation aside) are oppressed and live stunted lives, locked away and in chains like their dragons. until Dany, who though while its tragic that she grows up alone with no older relatives to love or guide her, since shes alone shes also FREE. and, being free, i think gave her the opportunity to fullfill the prophesy without anyone stopping her. even if just by being alive, cuz if Dany had had living family with her she wouldnt have sacrificed herself to the fire, cuz women are too nurturing and socially aware to be that reckless, unless she just has no one and nothing left to stick around for.

Sometimes I think about how desperate they were to achieve this. not for a good purpose, but simply to show their power and to make up for the sense of lack they felt because they were born after the dragons had died. The feelings would have been very different if the one who brought the dragons back had been a man. Compared to that, Daenerys’s feelings and intentions toward the world are different. Despite all the power she has, she cannot use her children as weapons against people or to spread terror. Instead, she raised them and nursed them as their mother, and made them a weapon for freedom. Of course, I don't mean all the characters, but just imagine if aerion or Aerys had brought back the dragons. they would literally be like euron greyjoy, wanting to enslave humans and seeing them as inferior to themselves.
