@melaniesandford18: Licorice root is actually the top herb for reducing hyperpigmentation, melasma, dark spots, and acne marks. When I learned this I about freaked out because:why is this not front page news? Licorice root has a compound called glabridin which can basically block the enzyme tyrosinase from producing too much melanin. Another compound called liquirtin can actually help disperse existing melanin in the skin to help it gradually lighten and blend in with your skin tone. On top of all of this, it is very gentle and hydrating. It can also protect against sun irritation— aggravation from the sun can lead to darker spots, so this can help to prevent new spots from forming as well🙌🏼 to make the brightening toner, you will need: 1 tablespoon of licorice root to one cup of water. Make a decoction-so simmer it on the stove top on low heat for about 15 to 20 minutes. Strain it out through a mesh strainer, and allow it to cool before pouring into a spray bottle. I’m using a 2 ounce glass bottle. leave space to add 1 tablespoon of vegetable glycerin to naturally preserve it as well as acting as a humectant to seal in moisture. The typical toner without vegetable glycerin will only be good for about five days in the refrigerator. Adding the glycerin can prolong it shelflife for a few more weeks. Freezing your mixture is best if you want to preserve it long-term. I love using facial icing tools like the contour cube. Stay tuned for the tutorial on making the skin brightening serum. (this is not medical advice, and I am not a medical professional)👏🏻🥰 #natu#naturalremediesn#skincare
