wasnt there a guy who kept doing this for more and more and more sides and it took him like 30 years to approximate pi with 96 sided shapes but newton came along and did it easily with calculus?

I believe this was on a British GCSE paper by the Edexcel exam board in 2024, they had a question with a hexagon with a circle inside and a hexagon enscribed within the circle, and asked you to prove π was greater than 3 but less than 2√3. Obviously a bit simpler than taking a limit, but just the hexagons. It was meant for 16 year olds after all, and in Britain they don't even learn calculus until 16+.
