Easiest way to clean stainless steel pans is to spray it with easy off and put it in a trash bag, tie it up and set it outside in the sun for 15-30 mins. You won't even have to scrub it, it will just rinse off.

Baking soda and vinegar neutralize each other and really just create bubbles. I'd recommend doing the simmering and then if just the sos pad doesn't work, using baking soda and water made into a paste to help!

Baking soda and vinegar neutralize each other (you basically made water). But the SOS pads are FANNNNNNNTASTIC for this

Never ever do this with an aluminum pan. The vinegar will eat a HOLE into your pan and cause pitting

baking soda and vinegar just neutralize each other to create water. just use water and dish soap. same result. it's the heat that loosens.

Baking soda + Vinegar = Water so the Brillo and the soap are the only thing that helped you

this is what i always do,learned it from chemistry class during middle school: laundry detergent (powder) + liquid dish washer soap+ cold water, bring it to boil, it will be foaming, be careful. let it boiling for a while, turn off the heat. wait until it turned cold, then scrap it with spons. this only works for metal. don't do it to Teflon or other non sticky coated pan

just boiling the baking soda and dawn would have done the same. you basically neutralized the vinegar with the baking soda (or vice versa)

GoobyGoomba :
Also baking soda and vinegar cancel out and just make salt water (what they use in salt and vinegar chips).
you would use vinegar to clean something and to make sure you washed out all the vinegar you'd cancel it out with baking soda to get rid of it all.
