well I wasn't biting my tongue but the answer to this question is it simple You using more force when you do it by accident because you're not expecting it and you're not stopping yourself but when you're doing it deliberately you're not using the same amount of force and most likely also you have more of your tongue under your teeth which is also spreading the force across multiple areas
