You can take them in so easily by sewing a little diagonal line on either side of the waist. It'll take like an hour tops to hand sew and if you look up a tutorial on youtube they will probably even show you how to do the stitch you need

If it’s only a tiny bit too big make 2 cuts on the inside of the waistband through only the first piece of fabric on either side of the zipper and thread a string through, tie it tight and it should fit ! Super easy
