@jennawilliamscpt: BTS: THE WATER CUT 💧 The most dreaded day in the whole fight camp. Cutting 8 pounds in 4 hours is no easy task. ⚖️ Dropping down to the flyweight division is a heavy burden for me. To hit 125 means dropping about 30 pounds of body weight from a body that is already in athletic and lean shape. 📐 Cutting weight this camp proved to be more difficult than ever before. The water cut is a scary feat for any fighter to go through, it goes against all healthy principles and standards for professional athletes, but yet we do it, and it’s a standard part of the fighting industry. It’s expected of the athletes. 🚫🧃 There is really no other sport where it’s normal to deplete yourself of food and hydration, sometimes to a point of ER visits, and then to go fight for your life in a cage. 🤯 It really is a small piece in this grand scheme of becoming a professional fighter. There’s so much more discipline that builds a great fighter. The real secret though is your community. 🧑🧑🧒🧒 My strength and drive is really powered by the people in my community who love and support me. 💕 I had so many offer to help me in my water cut and throughout my fight camp.
