✨ Head to the link in my bio for my free MCAT study schedule template! If I had to start from scratch and study for the MCAT all over again...   one of my BIGGEST priorities would be that by the time I take that first practice exam in "phase 3" of studying I get the same or pretty close to my goal score. When I was applying to med school, my GPA was already a big weakness for me and I had a strong upward trend but my science and cumulative GPA was still just a 3.3 So ya better believe I did everything in my power regarding aaaaall the other aspects of my application to be able to still be successful, And it worked really well, I ended up with 10 acceptances!! 🥹 When it came to the MCAT I wasn't playing around haha. My goal was 516 and I guess you can count the second AAMC practice test as your checkpoint because that first sample test isn't scored (but I think I got around 90% right so still good signs) Then the first scored AAMC practice I took, I got a 516! BUT That was AFTER using those other checkpoints above to make sure I was on track to do that. When I finished content review (aka Phase 1) I went from a 502 on the exam I took halfway through content review to... 🥁🥁 a 502 on the 3rd one at the end of content review! So I "freaked out" but in a good way! I was originally planning to go to AAMC material after that 3rd practice exam (apparently I hadn't heard of the THREE phase concept at the time haha) but I sure knew I wasn't ready to start the AAMC material only getting a 502!! So I went back to the drawing board and ➜ pushed back my test date ➜ bought Uworld Qbank ➜ bought 4 Blueprint practice exams ➜ reworked my study plan to include a "phase 2" By the end of phase 2 I was up to a 512 on practice exams and felt MUCH better about that, especially since I knew my scores would probably jump once I switched to the AAMC practice exams Anyway, that is just a little insight into how I went about making decisions and tweaking my plan in real time to MAKE SURE I was going to get that goal score and what do ya know, I ended up with the score I had posted on my study wall during those 5 months!! maybe I should have written a 520?! 🤔😅
