I’m not in love with him, but it still feels strange. We used to be best friends, and now he has a new partner that he hasn’t really told me anything about. He hasn’t told me how they met, what they’re like together, or if they have the same stupid jokes we used to have. I don’t know if he treats them better than he treated me, or if they laugh together the way we did. I think what hurts is knowing that we shared so much intimacy, and now I feel like a stranger to him, even though we’re still friends. And I’m jealous, honestly, as selfish as that sounds. Maybe part of me just hates the feeling of being replaced. The worst part is that I know I would’ve ended the relationship myself and never looked back. So I don’t even know why it hurts this much.
