listen. I'm 35 and my mom often asks me to go to the store with her. she's got a bad knee and often needs help bringing stuff in. every single time "I just need a few things." but this is on sale, that is on sale. oh let's stop at the hobby shop too. oh wait I need plastic totes. a 15 minute trip turns into 4 hours. you may wonder why I keep going. well that's my mom and she's put up with way more frustration from me in these 3 and a half decades but still... my point is this is accurate haha.

Stores deliberately put essentials at the back for this very reason. That’s why when you need just milk you have to walk by everything else and you are likely to get more than you need.
