Funny thing is, we all did a drill for this 6yrs ago. A LOT of us could just stay home and reduce the price & not drive in to work 🤷♂️

This is why I really don't get the EV hate. Even if you absolutely hate EVs, you should support other people buying them cause it reduces the demand on oil and if enough people switch, the price of gas will drop. Even if you hate EVs, it'll benefit you to have more EVs on the road.

This is why every country except the USA is moving at breakneck speed toward EVs. Just think about a world where you could literally not care less about the price of oil

That’s not accurate. Oil producing nations can produce more oil any given moment. And for GCC oil to completely stop flowing MUCH more would need to happen than has happened at the moment. Iran would need to destroy the pipelines and the instrastructure permanently which is possible but very unlikely.

I think a lot of people also forget that like... supply can't really rise to meet demand in the normal way in this case. So demand is inelastic and so is supply. And the only place that can significantly give is buyers leaving the market somehow.

we should have been building high speed rail and subsidizing EVs for the past 30 years. instead we subsidized SUVs and pickup trucks via CAFE standards.
