@organized_adventurer: ✌️That’s really it! It’s actually not that hard to find the best hiking trails, if you’re patient and do a bit of research! Although it can be time-consuming, researching and finding new trails feels like online shopping to me. 😅 And when I save them or add them to my list, it’s like putting it in my shopping cart. So, I really love planning adventures (hence “organized adventurer” 😅), and these are the tools I use to do it! ⬇️ COTREX - This is the best AND official database of Colorado trails. The app let’s you search by area to find hiking trails and download FREE topo and satellite maps. COTREX is also a project by the Colorado DNR and Colorado Parks and Wildlife, which we think is pretty AllTrails - find trails by park, location, proximity, and other filters; post and view photos; and download maps to navigate before your hike. Free for the basic plan, $35.99 for pro (which allows map Facebook Groups - we joined various Colorado hiking and local community Facebook groups when we moved here, and this has helped us connect with others and learn about local hikes. Instagram - yep, we use this very app! When we find a post with info or inspo about a hike we want to do, we “save” it (using the little ribbon icon to the right of the post) to a specific Colorado folder in our “Saved” posts on Instagram. This is why we’re always telling you to save our posts for later haha! Blogs - We read bog posts about places and hikes in Colorado. This is typically how we start planning the details of a hike or activity once we have an idea of what we want to do. Blog posts are longer and more comprehensive to social media, so they are great for getting prepared for the adventure!
