I am tired of being strong all the time. It’s exhausting. I’ve done this for my entire adult life. I will continue to do it, but if I’m going to be honest, I am exhausted.

Best advice that my Mom gave me as a kid was "make sure you can always take care of yourself because you never know what life is going to throw at you".

Definitely me during the times of raising kids, working, going to school to better myself & my career, and support my husband with his career aspirations and his health issues. I put my health needs on hold. I gained the most weight I had ever gained. Then my husband passed unexpectedly in 2020. Just before though, we were reconnecting as a couple and looking forward to the golden years. I've really had to learn who I am again, care for myself better, support my now adult children & grandchildren 😀, and try again for love. Then another unexpected loss happened 😔. I lost my oldest son in 2024. He was 32. I am still handling everything by myself. But I'm trying to live life as much as possible and enjoy when I can. Grief is such a roller coaster. I just pray for the lows to not feel so low. This is a long post I know. I get that he's saying to not bring more stress or add negatively to her world. I agree! But a man needs this level of support too I believe. They may not say it. But they do. Hopefully if two people are together they will be able to achieve this. I know that now, I have to be able to love myself enough to walk away if I'm being shown otherwise over & over. My husband was 💯 when it came to being supportive, especially as we matured. But the dating market today is rough 😕. God bless us all 🙏
