@ashleyjames: I know I get accused of being a man hater quite a lot and this reel probably won’t help my case but can I just say something. THE BAR IS IN HELL. 🔥🔥🔥 Like genuinely. The bar is not low. The bar is buried somewhere near the earth’s core. I’m not a man hater. I’m raising an amazing little boy and I’m surrounded by brilliant men. What I hate is the patriarchal system. The inequality. The culture that treats sexism and misogyny like it’s just “the way things are”. But what really gets me is how unbelievably low the bar for men still is. Deadbeat dads who think they can have affairs and then just see their children whenever it suits them. Men who pop in and out of their kids’ lives on their own terms and somehow think that gives them equal say. Men fiddling their accounts to financially control partners or acting like women’s labour in the home is just something they’re entitled to. And then society applauds men for “babysitting”, changing nappies or being a “hands on dad” as if that isn’t literally just… parenting. Or for “helping out” in their own house with their own washing and own cleaning. The bar is in hell! 👿👿👿 And mainly I want women to stop accepting crumbs. So many women feel like they shouldn’t be picky or that they should “settle” for the bare minimum. No. If someone makes you feel like wanting respect, effort and emotional maturity is asking for too much, you’re not asking for too much. You’re just asking the wrong person. Keep your standards high girls. In the mean time, now THIS is a judicial system I could get on board with 💅❤️
