This and the survivor tree always cuts deep knowing how close they were to the towers.

as a daughter whose father passed in the wtc on 9/11 i genuinely appreciate keeping the history alive. not enough people care enough about history we physically have lived through anymore and it’s heartbreaking so thank you

Being a survivor and remembering sitting at that globe on my lunch breaks makes me appreciate that it’s not forgotten by the younger generation thank you!

idk why everyone is acting like ur so weird for this. we promised to never forget. KEEP talking about it. KEEP remembering everyone who perished that day. KEEP honoring the first responders & rescuers. KEEP praying for their families. KEEP listening to survivors. KEEP talking about it. That is literally how history stays alive.

I find it interesting that the only "enthusiasts" I see are young people. The people who lived through it, and especially those who survived it, don't want to remember it because it's too painful. I live in Ohio and still tear up when I think about it. I was 24 when it happened.

You’re not “weird”. We promised to never forget….and you are doing a wonderful job at keeping that promise.

And the church across the street is still open for visitors! You can see the beds that the 1st responders slept in, and post it notes that the people in the city left for them 🥺🤍

Whenever I have people from out of state visit I always point this out - that every town that responded to 9/11 was given a piece of the debris left from the building - I grew up on Long Island and every town and firehouse I use to pass has a memorial with the debris

This isn’t weird at all. It’s incredibly respectful and sweet that you honor this terrible day in history

My favorite is the tree that survived and they nursed it back to health and replanted it. ❤️

It reminds me of the Japanese tradition of fixing broken bowls with gold, using the gold as emphasis on it being broken yet still beautiful

I’m right with you. I’ve been disgustingly educated on 9/11 since I was 11 lol. I’ve read books, documentary, and I’m even writing my own right now. I just can’t get enough of it. I wasn’t even born when it happened.

I would love for you to do more 9/11 historical facts. There’s a lot I don’t know about. I haven’t been to NYC since prob 2007

It’s important that children learn our history. If they are not taught the importance, they will never protect it.

You might already know this - but 9/11 called for the largest sea evacuation in history - 500,000 people rescued by boats that day. There are a few videos worth checking out on YouTube! My grandfather was a tugboat captain and responded to the "all available vessels" call, pictured here is his boat 💕

I'm sorry but "heavily damaged" and "relatively unscathed" in the same sentence is an odd way to describe it
