I find it interesting that the only "enthusiasts" I see are young people. The people who lived through it, and especially those who survived it, don't want to remember it because it's too painful. I live in Ohio and still tear up when I think about it. I was 24 when it happened.

And the church across the street is still open for visitors! You can see the beds that the 1st responders slept in, and post it notes that the people in the city left for them 🥺🤍

Whenever I have people from out of state visit I always point this out - that every town that responded to 9/11 was given a piece of the debris left from the building - I grew up on Long Island and every town and firehouse I use to pass has a memorial with the debris

It reminds me of the Japanese tradition of fixing broken bowls with gold, using the gold as emphasis on it being broken yet still beautiful

I’m right with you. I’ve been disgustingly educated on 9/11 since I was 11 lol. I’ve read books, documentary, and I’m even writing my own right now. I just can’t get enough of it. I wasn’t even born when it happened.
