No matter what you call these brownies, they’re rich, fudgy, and made easy with Carnation! 😋 #caramel #brownies #baking #chocolate #carnationmilk Caramel Brownies Ingredients 1 box chocolate cake mix (like German chocolate, chocolate, Devils Food, etc. we used Devils Food) ⅔ cup Carnation Evaporated Milk (divided) ½ cup melted butter, unsalted 14oz caramels (or about 1 ½ packages) 1 cup Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 cup chopped toasted pecans (optional) How to make caramel brownies from boxed cake mix 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Unwrap all of the caramels and place into a medium microwave safe bowl and set aside. Grease an 8x11 pan or casserole dish and set aside. 2. In a large mixing bowl add the cake mix, ⅓ cup Carnation Evaporated Milk, and melted butter. Use a wooden spoon to stir until everything is combined. The batter will be thick. 3. Press half of the brownie mix into the bottom of the greased baking pan and bake for 8 minutes. This will not completely bake the brownies, but help set them before adding the toppings. 4. While the brownies are par baking, add the remaining ⅓ cup of evaporated milk to the caramels and microwave in 30-45 second increments stirring in between until smooth. The caramels will look gloopy at first, but just trust the process and keep repeating until everything can be stirred smooth. 5. Once the brownie base is done, evenly sprinkle the Toll House semi-sweet morsels over the top and drizzle the caramel over the top of the chocolate chips along with the pecans (if using). 6. Form the rest of the brownie batter and flatten in your hands and place it on top of the caramel. It’s ok if the batter doesn’t completely cover the caramel. Place the brownies back into the oven for another 15-16 minutes. Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing.
