My Labrador is broken he absolutely hates water

1. A certain part of the population has the mutation, certainly not all labradors. 2. St John's dogs were bread to retrieve nets and came from new foundland, this breed was mixed with English hunting dogs which resulted in the Labrador retriever, a breed that was supposed to be more weather proof than the spaniels and pointers used in the UK at that time and were better at retrieving. Although some working lines can still point the Labrador is solely designed as a picking up dog.
