My daughter has been I travel softball for about 5yrs now and her softball bag has about $3k of equipment in it. Plus the $2k to be on a team. It’s not cheap to do travel.

Both my oldest kids baseball bag have well over $1,500. Bats, catchers gear, mitts, batting gloves, etc. it doesn’t have to be that expensive. Yall can get stuff in a cheap store but once the kids start getting serious.. you’ll start getting better equipment and then you can start paying for more expensive stuff but that’s an investment and keep in mind they can have all that stuff for a couple years. A good glove (if you get a bigger one) can last you several years and so will the bats if you plan accordingly

It’s all a cash grab. Club sports feed off of parental FOMO. Kids all walk around with all their own gear instead of shared gear. When I played little league there was a bag of shared bats and helmets. Now all the kids have their own bats, helmets, bags, multiple jerseys, etc. totally ridiculous. Leagues feed off selling image.
