🚨If my number called you in the last three weeks and you were not expecting a call from me — I need you to hear this. It wasn’t me. scammers have spoofed my number. I’ve been getting calls from strangers saying ‘your number just called me, is this Sherry Spurlin?’ And every single time I have to stop and explain — I didn’t call you. it wasn’t me. And here’s what I need everyone to understand — they didn’t hack my phone. They didn’t need to. There are tools that let scammers type in ANY phone number they want as their outgoing caller ID. Your number. My number. Your bank’s number. the gut punch is My phone could be sitting right here in my hand — and at the exact same moment, someone overseas is using my number to call your grandmother. Two completely separate calls. No connection to my device whatsoever. This is why caller ID means nothing anymore. The number on the screen tells you nothing about who is actually on the other end. If you get an unexpected call from anyone don’t assume the caller ID is giving you correct information. Let it go to voicemail. Legitimate people will leave you a message.
