When flying on employee passes, there are dress code. Non-rev you are representing the airline thus the stricter rules. My husband works for American and if we use the passes we have to follow the rules.

Even if this is a stricter dress code only for those traveling on free passes, why? It makes no sense to subject people to a dress code that is overly strict just because they are using a free pass. We all can dress the same no matter how we are paying or not paying.

Oh ok I was on their side until it said they were flying on employee benefits. That changes everything. When I was a flight attendant, flying while using my benefits and when my family used my benefits, we were required to dress business casual. Rules are rules and employees are responsible to make sure those using their benefits follow the rules.

The airlines didn’t have any idea about the special passes until they went back to find a loophole AND nobody on the flight would know they’re related to employees. The airlines wanted those seats for someone else

All the airlines I know of have the same rules. We have to agree to the dress code to travel !

My dad used to work for United. When we flew using his passes, there was a dress code we had to follow. A small price to pay for being able to fly for almost nothing. This policy has been established for decades and employees who distribute the passes are well aware of the requirement.

Yes you have to wear casual business. My husband worked for FedEx, same policy. Very clear on the process.

I’ve flown the Pass Program and it was made very clear to me that business casual was appropriate dress. I was cool with it because I was representing my pilot uncle that gave me the ticket.
