And then later on in this same episode, Amber admitted that she can be very selfish, because her and Miranda were stuck on an iceberg together. They hugged and talked while the boat was making its way back over. Miranda also admitted that helping the pirates was a poor idea, but she’s doing her best, and that it’s a mother’s job to protect her children. At the end, Miranda even said that she knew she had to let her girls grow up. Miranda.. and the twins don’t get as much screen time, but she is very much a mother to them. She’s the only mother they’ve ever really known. I understand that Roland and Sofia received more attention, but that’s strictly because Sofia is the main character. In this episode, Sofia and Amber were asking to go on a boat at night, out in the middle of the ocean to see a meteor shower. Of course she said no. And it’s also important to point out the difference in parenting styles between Roland and Miranda. Miranda gives off as an authoritative parent, which is why Sofia is very disciplined from the start of the show. She is happy with her life, and cared for very well. Roland gives off as a parent with much less structure. He clearly does protect his kids, but I also think there’s a lot they get away with because he wanted children so bad to begin with. Example- Roland had a hard time saying no when Amber was trying to distract her parents from seeing the broken window. Another example of this could be inferred from Amber’s personality in the beginning. She was definitely spoiled, which is likely because Roland didn’t give her the things she wanted in moderation. This is likely why she’s angry at Miranda for not just saying yes. Now, that assumption about his parenting could be completely wrong, but either way, we know how Miranda parented. And I truly believe that she helped him adopt a more favorable structure of parenting, because they act as a united front. Other examples of Miranda being a good parent- “Mom’s the word”. This episode illustrated that Miranda viewed both Amber and James as her kids too. Even when Sofia wanted to have the picnic alone, Miranda refused to have it until they found the twins.

Miranda hate in the caption is crazy. There’s a whole episode where Sofia is literally jealous because Miranda is giving more attention to the twins than Sofia. Not only that but she was a single mom, then Miranda the king, became queen of an entire kingdom, and had to mother not just Sofia now.. but two more kids. Kids who she didn’t birth, so it wasn’t even harder getting to know them and what they are like at that age as well. Let’s cut Miranda some slack cause she did her best… ntm on my queen

I hated this episode because in earlier seasons Miranda was more trusting with the kids and was more levelheaded and Roland was the overprotective one and in this episode Miranda was so out of character

The comments must be children. Cause Miranda has never been a bad mom. She was overprotective of Amber cause she wants her safe. There was an episode Where Sofia was struggling with the change of a new family because Miranda was giving the same love and attention to the twins. Also she's not just struggling with bein a mom of 2 more kids but also the responsibility of being a queen. She and Sofia had to adjust the most in their life because of the marriage.

It's mainly her trying to process as a child the passing of her mother and trying to accept Miranda as her mother. I absolutely love how they wrote amber as someone who grew up going through that. 💖
