@crmnallyobsessed: Harold Powell, a 68-year-old disabled Navy veteran, testified that he believed he was “at death’s door” after being shot in the chest on the Seattle waterfront last July. Speaking from his wheelchair in court, Powell said the man who shot him, Gregory Timm, had first accused him of being a “fake veteran,” ripped a Navy patch from his wheelchair, and made him feel threatened. Powell told jurors he pulled out a knife to protect himself and insisted he never pointed the BB gun he was holding at Timm. Prosecutors say Timm unjustifiably confronted Powell, stole the patch, and then shot him, while Timm’s defense attorney claims he acted in self-defense as Powell wheeled toward him with weapons in hand. Timm is charged with first-degree assault and third-degree theft, and the trial is expected to last about two weeks. #truecrime
