10 seconds into the video and I can tell you these are chocobo forests. you find yellow horse-sized flightless birds that are naturally predispositioned to act as mounts for human riders. I don't even have a degree.

As an Australian, with a lifetime in agriculture, we also heavily deforested to mono-crop. Now we are revegetating to prevent rising salinity, reduce wind sheer, increase biodiversity, and re-establish the nutrient cycle. Mass land clearing was the great idea of my grandparents day, revegetating is the great idea of my children's days.

there is a chuch in the Ethiopian mountains called abuna yemata guh. it requires a barefoot 2500m ascent, and a sketchy walk across a very very thin ledge. its incredible
