As someone that works in pharmacy, it is NOT easier or free. The mental stress with trying to get it in for poor baby and then if it’s out of stock they have to stress trying to find it somewhere else or constantly chasing up. Many mums take months of appointments just to convince the dr of an allergy. Never let anyone tell you it’s a dream, I feel so sorry for parents that go through this❤️

$600 a month on hypoallergenic formula. It’s terrible. And insurance charges me MORE than what I pay at the store. So ridiculous

My little girl is 9 weeks old and I’m 6 weeks into this. Lived at the doctors for the last 6 weeks, just moved to Neocate from pepti1 and on Gaviscon for her reflux. Hang in there, we got this 🩷

I just found out my baby has it and I’m picking up her prescription today and man am I exhausted not only from the sleepless nights but constantly worrying about if she is okay. I thought I was doing something wrong until I got told that today she can’t have normal formula

GP though it omeprazole don’t work for my baby that it might be an allergy and that if that was the case I’d get formula free but I didn’t care I said I’d rather pay for formula that her have an allergy! Thankfully for her it was just reflux.

On my second cmpa journey 2 out of 3 of my babys had/have it and id definitely rather pay for formula my middle child didn’t have it and she was so happy content and thrived, my first and third both have struggled so much and been very unhappy poorly babys ❤️

The mental exhaustion, having to constantly trying to get hold of a gp. The guilt for not being able to take the pain away. The “is this all my fault” feeling everyday. 😖😢

My response to this now that my daughter is 19 months old is that I am paying for it now! She also can’t have soy so her oat milk and dairy free cheese, yoghurts etc etc costs me a bomb 🙈 she just failed the milk ladder again at cheese too 🙃

1000% on this, we’re currently hositalised at 9 weeks old to such a severe allergy and reflux as she was 8 weeks prem 😭

I had 2 with milk allergy, they did eventually grow out of it as they got older but wouldnt wish it on my worst enemym

When my little girl was dignosed I felt like I was cheating getting her milk free then we started weaning and buying milk gluten and egg free is NOT a cheap do 🙈🙈🙈

honestly i wish i could just go to tesco and buy his formula i hate seeing him in so much pain struggling with formulas not helping him and severe reflux! i wish i could take it all away for him x

Every month I used to stress whether they’d get it in time! Always a delay of the gp authorising the repeat prescription! One month I had to buy some as I was running out and they still hadn’t authorised it! Not a fun thing to stress about every month😩
