@kaylynsahs: I can’t believe this song “The Perfect Man” released one month ago today… 🥹 Here‘s the real reason why I wrote this song in 45 minutes with Ryan Neely & @Justin Love. I’ll never forget Ryan coming into the room and having this conversation: Ryan: “Kaylyn, I have your next hit!” Me: “Wow, let’s hear it!” Ryan: “It’s called The Perfect Man.” Me: **in my head** “Yeah… let’s really hear it…” He sat at the piano to show Justin and I the bones of the idea he had started and when he got to the end of the chorus he sang, “I found the perfect man and his name…” Time froze and I held my breath thinking, “Please say it… Please say it…” And he finished, “His name is Jesus.” I literally threw my hands in the air saying, “Let’s gooo!” There was such an excitement for all of us and as we began to write, the words poured out. This song wasn’t even my idea… and the coolest thing about that is that it’s my testimony. I’ve spent my whole life dreaming of the perfect man. Growing up watching Disney princess movies where they find their Prince Charming in about 30 minutes probably didn’t help with that, but I found myself waiting and waiting for the perfect man to come find me and sweep me off my feet… when Jesus has been with me the whole time. Through the tears, the fear of the future, the heartbreak, the hard decisions, the rejection, the lonely nights, the disappointments… Jesus was with me the whole time, pursuing me, choosing me, drawing me closer to Him, to His heart, to the truth of His Word, fighting for me, and never letting me go no matter what. He is the One who will never leave. The only One who can fulfill my heart. The only One who has the ability to love me the way I was made to be loved. The One who died for me, saved me, and set me free. He is The Perfect Man. Now, that doesn’t mean that desire to share my life with someone special has disappeared. But knowing that my worth is in Jesus and my greatest desire is fulfilled in Him makes all the difference.
