So accurate! When I was homeless I would have absolutely loved to get a job but you need an address to get a job and you need to be able to regularly do laundry to go to work. It's a cycle

I'm from Finland 🇫🇮 and work in housing first. I love my job, but we are in trouble! Homelessness is rising again after many years 😔 and we are losing jobs at the same time. From 2024 my workplace had to let go like 15 workers and there is only eight workers left...for now 😢

My “if I won the lottery” dream is to buy abandoned hotels and make them apartments for homeless people. I have a whole plan on how to run it to give people a sense of ownership and support.

Homelessness was the biggest shock for me when I moved to UK. It broke my heart and I just cant understand it

Took me almost 3 years to get on disability… still never enough. I can’t work.. it’s hard to get the government to help you, they request so much for so little. I was house hopping for almost 4 years. Still an occasionally bc staying more than a year some places feel wrong.

U.S. needs a law to req companies to keep workers for 4 years and pay those workers unemployment if they fire or lay them off for up to 2 years regardless of reason for termination.

We do have supportive housing with case management on site and it's under the housing first model which doesn't require sobriety before approval. It's not everywhere but it does exist.

Wait is social security not a universal income for retired people? I know it’s not even close to enough and o know us does nothing but I feel like social security is exactly that
