Can't expect a parent who has learned to sleep through their kids noises at times because the other parent is with them to be woken if they aren't in the know. You have trust in them you know your kid is safe so you can fully sleep and not wake to every sound. I alway wake up my partner to pass hey I'm running real quick to do this our kid is asleep, but have your ears on incase they wake up. Plus we have door knob locks and a gate to keep them in the house & safe from bad things in the house. They can only go to a confined area with all their toys with usually a snack and a drink. I never leave without making sure they know their the main caregiver to be aware.
