@truth.thread.qa: I’m still shocked at the ending of the #kouririchinstrial. To literally put on no defense after weeks of promising so, is mind boggling.

Please, all the other lawyers in this thread- how would she be not guilty "we you go by the law?" Ive watched like 4 clips and she is clearly guilty. I've been a defense attorney for 16 years.

If there’s reasonable doubt you’re instructed as a juror to vote for an acquittal. We should not be convicting people for crimes based on circumstantial evidence. You’re not supposed to “think” someone is guilty you’re supposed to KNOW!!!

The defense pushed hard that Eric was having an affair. Why didn’t defense subpoena this person and let the jury decide.

He lawyers have been trying to get a mistrial the entire trial. That’s not a good sign that you’re innocent.

Jury was influenced for sure. The defense didn’t call anyone because it should’ve been not guilty based on the prosecutions case.

I think this is strategy, she will claim the failure of her defense team for an appeal. But she is guilty.

She’s guilty, but the prosecutors circumstantial evidence is weak when it comes to reasonable doubt, a lot of people don’t know what reasonable doubt is, and if u don’t paint a clear picture or a clear narrative then circumstantial evidence will just confuse the jury, I know she’s guilty I can feel it, those are my sincere feelings, but also feel heavy either hung jury or not guilty 🤷🏽‍♂️

Naw sadly she’ll be let off just like Casey Anthony and the cycle will continue to repeat because more of these cases keep occurring and there is no trial or mistrial for whatever bullshit reason the American justice chooses.

Defense attorneys do not normally call witnesses in a homicide trial, as they do not have the burden of proof.

I just served on a jury. It has to be reasonable doubt based on the evidence presented. You can’t fill in holes with what-ifs. It’s a lot harder to come up with reasonable doubt then I would’ve expected.

If you believe she likely did it, that’s beyond reasonable doubt. Now if that she might have done it, that’s not beyond reasonable doubt. I think people categorically misunderstand what reasonable doubt is. It doesn’t mean beyond any doubt at all.

This means her defense gets two closing statements, they go, then the prosecution and then the defense gets a second chance to refute everything the prosecution just said and gives the defense the last word. Otherwise the prosecution gets the last word. It’s not that uncommon especially if you don’t have that much of a defense and are most likely guilty. One witness or 300 witnesses it doesn’t matter, had they called just one witness this opinion wouldn’t be available. Does it make sense now ?

I would’ve voted guilty too. The state proved to me beyond a reasonable doubt thag she did it. It was so obvious she killed him, the circumstantial evidence was damning for the defense. I mean there’s just so much evidence and the motive was so strong
