@realest_branchmanager: Accuracy is a very important aspect of being a Bank Teller for cash handling. Count the cash at least 3 times and don’t ever rush. #teller #realest_branchmanager #bank #creatorsearchinsights
This is why TCRs are amazing. Rarely an overage or outage.

At my bank we are required to count our cash out 3 times at minimum. They check cameras to make sure. Once out of the drawer, once to put into the computer and once either to the customer or to yourself before giving to the customer.

I count by hand, run it through the machine and then count it out to the customer

Not every bank has this in all branches but that TCR is a good tool for especially large deposits and taking out withdrawals, if it makes an error it’s not on you, it’s on the machine but with that said, I was taught from the beginning to triple check, once by counting, once by making sure it was what was on the deposit/withdrawal request to make sure it matches and lastly count it again before putting it into the drawer or counting it back to the customer. It really will catch 99 percent of mistakes that can happen with cash handling

I quick count the bills as I pick them up, then count them to myself in hand (or by machine if it's a lot), then to the customer. and for coin I WILL WRITE THAT SHIT DOWN. ITS ALWAYS THE COIN 🤣

I’m not a teller anymore but since I used to be I fill in for the tellers sometimes. I count every single time there’s a break in customers. And if it’s busy all day I will tell the others “hey I’m unavailable for a couple minutes” so I can count. Then I make note of the last transaction I did so that if I come up over or short I know where to start looking for the difference.

cash out , 3x , once to yourself, once to the computer, and once to the customer. If at any point it feels off, start over.

The worst thing at the end of the day for a teller is not balancing.

Making sure you process the transaction correctly also. For example if you process a deposit but should have processed a withdrawal.

but also the problem that triple counting can't solve: new bills. once counted 5x and still accidentally gave an extra bill 😂 customer saw me pull a magic trick on myself somehow lol. they brought it back ❤️

I count it out of my till, count it into the computer by denomination, could it back to the customer. And honestly, when I started using sortqwik my outages have become so rare.

print a count ticket every. single. time. even if its a small amount. and keep it with your work. it's a lifesaver when you're going back through your work when there is a difference!

We count 3x at my bank as well. Once pulling it from my drawer, once through the money counter (printing a slip from the counter) and once again to the customer. I then staple the print out to the slip.
