I have more than £200k invested and these are the 10 things I will never do with my money: 1. Wait until the end of the months to invest. It’s so easy to do but you’ll be left with the scraps. I invest as soon as my pay check hits my bank account. 2. Leave my money in my current account. All my money works for me while it’s waiting to be spent. I love to use a HYSA to get at least 4% interest. 3. Avoid maxing out my employer pension contributions because retirement feels too far away. It’s free money that can compound for years. 4. Ignoring my own taste and chasing trends. I’ve developed my own taste and it’s helped me save £1000+ already. I know what I like and spend accordingly. 5. Paying for unused memberships and subscriptions. I review my subscriptions once a month. I never have more than one entertainment subscription running at a time (Netflix, Disney, NowTV, AppleTV). Small leaks sink big ships. If it's not adding value this month, it's cancelled. 6. I live by buy it nice or buy it twice. Wasting money on poor quality is my pet peeve. I buy 90% of my clothing in the sale but when I buy something, I make sure it’s good quality and natural materials where it makes sense. 7. I stopped asking "how much can I save?" and started asking "how much can I earn?" The game’s changed completely and I’ve realised how much money there is to make. 8. Chase ‘no buy months’ - life is about balance and enjoyment while building financial independence. 9. I don't lock myself into rigid financial commitments where I can avoid it. I keep things flexible so I can adapt as my situation changes. Which is why I prefer renting over buying at the moment. I don’t know whether I’ll stay in London long-term. And I certainly don’t want to buy a leasehold. What are your non-negotiables? #PersonalFinance #financialliteracy #money101 #investingtips #budgeting101
