Your suggestions are excellent! I have them in my backpack and I added additional to your suggestions. Backpack: I packed A fork, knife spoon, can opener , and a mug. emergency numbers handwritten in a waterproof bag, important documents in a waterproof bag, two extra chargers. one is solar. I have a zip Lock bag with disposable gloves, and 95 masks, along with the first aid kit... I keep a comforter in a compressed space bag, a sweat jacket, gloves and an extra pair of sneakers, and an old fashion road Map in my trunk all the time. I also invested in a Halo charger It will jump start your car, has several ports for phone or computer, has a built-in flashlight, and the newer models now come with an air compressor for tires. I keep a duffel bag pack with clothes, essentials, baby wipes, etc ..like you're packing for a trip. most importantly, I give myself 3 minutes to leave the house. can I grab everything that's important .... pets, medication, food water, backpack, duffle bag .. yes.. set a timer and do a drill. I'm confident that I can make it out in 3 minutes. if I have 5 minutes. that's a bonus. FYI ... For people with pets, make sure you have an expandable pop-up crate, especially if you have to go to a shelter. many shelters will only accept pets if you have them contained. keep that into consideration. unfortunately I've been in situations where I was not prepared, that's not going to happen again! I rather be prepared than panicked.
