It is a hell of a privilege to have to time ability and resources to build a house, even slowly. Even saving up enough to buy a small plot can be very difficult, let alone having enough left over after paying rent to make any progress, and that’s if you live somewhere that allows you to do this without a million permits.

My childhood home is a paycheck home. Took my dad 10 years to fully finish, but 30 yesrs later it's stronger than ever. It's to freedom. Good luck to you!
