also, i’m aware anxiety also gives you physical symptoms and physiological changes BUT it does piss me off that after I was diagnosed with it, anything I go to the doctors for, they say it’s bc of anxiety. CAN YOU MAKE SURE pls 😭?

I was misdiagnosed when I was 18, it took till I was 28 till it got corrected. I spent years mismedicated and it nearly ruined my life.

And people get incorrect medical diagnosis’s as well. Because medicine is an art form based on science. It’s not absolute, and is based on interpretation many times.

the fact is... each doctor has a opinion... it may be a professional opinion but it is still just that - opinion not fact- even the best of professions have a certain way of thinking , everyone thinks differently everything is just a opinion, doesmt matter how long someones studies- drs cant agree with eachother & im analyzing that on a daily, its all around us

I was diagnosed with BPD at 19. I'm still fighting to get it removed at 43. I even had a stable 10 year marriage and raised 3 healthy mentally stable and thriving children, things that should not be impossible for someone with BPD.

Psychiatry is not an absolute science unfortunately as we know. Mental health practitioners are too quick to categorise symptoms through pattern recognition and from the DSM or ICD, which sometimes leads to good results but sometimes not. A lot of symptoms overlap and once a diagnosis is given in psychiatry, it is mostly fixed and unchanged. I’m not saying this is always the case but once you’re diagnosed with a personality disorder or psychotic illness, it isn’t commonly reviewed. I would like to see a shift in mental health where we treat symptoms rather than assigning labels or putting people into boxes. Sadly diagnosis is often a legal justification for treatment so I understand why our system is the way it is. I say this as a MH professional that’s left the system
