@thegirderclub: The pit crew at Montlhéry push a monster of a motorcycle on to the circuit - a 1928 BAC 2400cc Pacer. Pacers were developed in the early 20th century to provide a means for cyclists to hit impressive speed records. The pacers were powerful motorcycles that provided a windbreak to the cyclist and enabled speeds as high as 100kph. The position and bars of the pacer put the rider in an upright stance, thus increasing the aerodynamic shield to the trailing cyclist.
