@addictedtotools: Will this actually work?..we all have these Milwaukee batteries that say they’re charged but aren’t. This is meant to balance the cells and then be able to charge. Fingers crossed.

Why isn’t he just replacing the cells? Doesn’t Milwaukee sell soldering irons?

I got given a free 6ah high output that wouldn’t charge due to sitting for 18 months got a charged battery and two peices of 1.5mm between the terminals for 30 seconds and it’s been working good for months

I've resurected a few of mine saved 3 of my Ozito batteries haha, and makita I've used it on too, either by trickle charging through the output pins, Linking it to the output pins on a modified charger with a working battery so the working battery communicates to keep the charger happy, or with an adjustable power supply, or like your doing with a ballancer.

perhaps even those smart battery charger for RC cars would work? they have a couple of functions to "revive" lipo batteries 🤔

the higher the amps the more cells the more chance of failure. there will be some broken cells in there. you can test that and then just remove them and it'l become a 6a ect. I did it once it was not fun. the time did not equal the reward

as long as all cells are same voltage , then the bms will allow charging

My three amp broke and as it was only a three I didn’t care if I completely destroyed it so I took it apart pulled off the damaged cells and just charged them with my 18650 rejuvenator and it’s working fine I’ve only used it once or twice though I mainly use my fives and eights

I rebalance my 12Ah batteries with an active balancer about every 2 years and works a treat.

A full charge on a LiPo or LiIon cell is 4.2V just fyi bro. Most people agree a safe low voltage limit is no less than 3.2V so anything over or around that and the cell can probably be revived!

if they go very flat when they are hot and you forget to charge them when they cool down they can go below the minimum threshold too is a common thing I've found causes them not to charge.
