I mean not even the men could have a friends....especially higher up commanders where death of one if way up to another. Only kids can have friendships other than that friendship is nonexistence...any sort of deeper conection isnt....you cant rely on your parents, siblings, classmates, nobody. Hannah was lucky enought to have people around her that cared and she could be friends with. But I understand some Handmaids that betrayed June, she just try to win over a favore, to survive.
