I started investing at 27 years old thank god. I’m 57 now and will be fine in retirement. We spent 4 years in high school learning how to do useless shit like diagramming sentences. A class on 401ks, Roth IRAs etc would have helped so many of us.

im about to turn 64 with very little to retire. I hate when people say why didn't you save, well I was a single mom working 2 jobs to survive. Life happens and now my job my be locking it's doors in 1 week. im scared I won't get another job and I dont want one...it's scarry

Ive worked it out that if you have money saved you just get stung, if you dont you get looked after + I remember my Nan telling me in the 90s not to bother with a private pension, so spend spend spend + enjoy your life why you can.

Right here with you sister🙏🏽. Started late have to work until 62 to get barely $2,000 a month. I hope SS helps. Did everything right. Grade school, community college and still not enough. Our system cheated us.

I've been slowly saving since I was 21. pay yourself 1st like any other bill. I've made many sacrifices and gone without. My car is a 2009 Toyota avalon. I'll be out by 60 yo at the latest.

we are both 54,on Dave Ramsey step 6. We are consumer debt free, paying off our 15 yr mortgage 8 yrs early next year on our dream home. 1 year emergency fund in high yield savings. Maxing out our retirement accounts with 600k saved in them allready. maxing our HSA's.I will get a small pension, no kids to worry about, and reverse mortgage our property. Plan on retirement at age 62.

56, no pension. I’ve never earned enough to pay into a pension, 40 years of mainly minimum wage jobs, but I have always owned my own home so maybe I’ll have to downsize , it I might not live long enough to worry about it 🤷🏻♀️
