Ferrero is the single largest consumer of hazelnuts on the planet, buying 25% of the global supply. They can afford real vanilla. They chose synthetic. The gold foil, the textured shell, the "premium confectionery experience" — all wrapped around a filling flavoured with a compound manufactured from crude oil. The EU just dawn-raided Ferrero's offices in April 2026 as part of an antitrust investigation into cross-border chocolate sales. The packaging says luxury.
