It drives me insane when we’re going lights and sirens and people don’t pull over or stop. It’s like “we are responding to somebody’s emergency so please let us get there quickly and safely!” Even if it’s a “minor” emergency, somebody still called 911 asking for our help and we need to get there as quickly as possible. I appreciate the people who do quickly and safely pull over for us though.

and yes, pull over to the RIGHT. i don’t even care if you stop, just GET OUT THE WAY. in my service, we CANNOT GO AROUND YOU. we are trained to travel in the left lane no matter which way we’re turning so that we don’t confuse people and can move in a predictable manner. once again, WE CANNOT GO AROUND YOU. WE HAVE TO “PUSH” YOU OUT OF THE WAY.

My biggest pet peeve: 1: they just STOP don’t pull over just stop. 2: when the car in front of them pulls over but they go around and THEN pull over. 3: when they speed up so they don’t have to pull over 4: when they literally wait until I am on their bumper to pull over. 5: when they don’t do anything just continue to drive normal.

Literally was pulling up to a structure fire in an engine today, lights on, sirens blasting. Had to stand on the q and lay on the air horn because someone was parked in the middle of the road filming the fire and had no idea we were right in front of them

i literally had a person pull in front of me, slow down, and flip us off as we were running code to a 3 yo who was choking. it’s not an ego thing or whatever people think. this is someone’s LIFE where seconds matter!
