The mistake people are making is entering it as BYO packaging in My Post Business instead of as a fixed price package when it’s the same size. If your box or satchel is exactly the same size just choose the equivalent fixed price box or satchel

Auspost is the government. And couriers please and Aramex are both extremely competitive on satchel rates - sendle was just a middle man there is no less competition now than there was last year. I sent over 90 thousand (not a typo 😆) parcels over the past year and think auspost are great for what they do well: peak season (especially east coast to WA), express, international and inland. The east coast though is almost always cheaper with Aramex and couriers please. We only send around 50% of our parcels through Auspost. The competition is there, you just need to get friendlier with your account managers and negotiate better rates 😀 Auspost account managers are the worst though (all talk, no power to help).

Should ask them about how they decide to charge on cubic weight but don’t disclose how to calculate the cubic weight they just charge you additionally for it with no notice

i sent a parcel that apparently i under declared by a single centimetre and i got an underpayment notice for $5 😭 this is why i much prefer using aramex because its so much cheaper and rare to get an underpayment from them

so australia post only has a monopoly on letters, not parcels. they compete with other services for parcel delivery. that's why they are allowed to freely set parcel prices but not letter prices. parcels are a competitive market for australia post.

It’s hurting small businesses and we end up closing down because we can’t afford the cost but I honestly think that’s what they want. I have looked at auspost packaging as I hear it was cheaper but for some reason it costs more for us than our own? Confused and sick of Aus Post 🤦🏼♀️

They need a class action taken against them. I have done all sorts of packaging still overcharges are the same. Also if you Send your stock to Amazon you can send a pallet for $5 nothing is making sense
