When my kids were babies I read a article written by Irma Bombeck where she commented on how we save our best China, our best manners, etc. for strangers. From that moment on I started using my best china dishes for EVERY for Sunday dinner so my children could see that THEY are more important than strangers. My mindset was, if they drop and break a piece, it's only stuff.
