@archaicversos: the term “middle east” is a colonial term created by the british and american strategists to describe the region solely based on its position relative to europe. western powers centered themselves as the middle of the world and dismantled local identities, indigenous geography which led to the ultimate reduction of the region’s vast culture to merely a military "buffer zone" designed purely for colonial convenience. all of this can be traced back to western intervention. through the imposition of artificial borders and constant foreign interference, the west erased the organic pluralism of west asian societies for its own economic interests. and today, the world is conditioned to view this region only through war headlines and oil reserves. an oversimplified perspective that ignores the fact that this so-called "instability" was shaped by the same powers that now claim to be its moderators. #westasia #middleeast #iran
