The egg can drop from normal fishing in void storm as well. Left of the arena dungeon north part of the zone there is a fishable pool of water

You can fish it up directly from the voidstorm bubbles, you do not need a chest to spawn. That's how I got mine. So if you want the best odds you still need to be fishing those voidstorm bubbles.

can confirm. fished it up in Eversong from random pool. can't remember if it was blossoming or a viscous void. didn't know what it was at first
