There is a woman in our area whose real name many of us may not even know well, but everyone calls her “Mama Nice.” She is one of the most hardworking women I have seen. She travels all the way to Zuba in Abuja to buy foodstuffs and brings them back to sell to us at very affordable prices. I first noticed her during the COVID-19 period, when things were very difficult for many families. Yet, she kept showing up — come rain, come shine — making sure people in our community could still get food at cheaper rates. From that time till today, she has remained consistent. Her effort has touched almost every home in Games Village, Abuja. People like Mama Nice may not make headlines, but their kindness and hard work keep communities going. I pray she is truly appreciated cos she deserves it honestly.
