Flipped (Inverted): Gravity pulls the water straight down out of one straw, which creates suction that pulls air up through the second straw to fill the empty space. This continuous airflow allows the water to pour out rapidly without creating a vacuumlock.
Not Flipped (Upright): Water cannot flow out on its own through gravity. Even if you actively suck on one straw, you are relying purely on mouth suction rather than gravity's pull, making the process much slower (or impossible if air leaks in through the open second straw instead of pulling up water).
