My management placement was on ICU. After that even now almost 2yrs qualified, I literally still look at the MAP constantly 🤣 xx

Perfusion is relative. So you can’t give it’s ok above X number it’s about variability from baseline.

I was literally wondering about this the other day at placement (I’m a student midwife). I really wish they taught us about it in lectures 😭

please don't think I'm coming at you because this is a very informative video and I 100% agree that all nursing students need to understand the importance of map. unfortunately though outside the intensive care arena or other high care areas the map is not to given the importance that it deserves

main arterial pressure (map) usually done accurately when Arterial line is fit on artery, cuff is just systolic and diastolic wont give accurate map

It’s also important to remember if on the wards you are using a DynaMAP it only accurately measure MAP.

if you bloody escalate 99 systolic to me imma rage. The fact so many nurses don't know the BP limits for IPs is crazy. 90 > Systolic > 180 is when u should escalate to us

Shall we not worry about maps and give the patent a drink? Do you want to mention the pulse?
