@anthromorphlab: Linevka I Kipchak Warrior Facial Reconstruction This warrior was buried in the Linevka I kurgan (burial mound) within the Ural River basin and dates back to the 14th century. Having lived for more than 50 years, this warrior managed to survive despite being struck in the face by an arrow and suffering a broken jaw. The Kipchak groups in this region are characterized by more distinct East Eurasian (Mongoloid) morphological influences compared to their western counterparts. The Kipchaks were a nomadic Turkic people who dominated the Eurasian steppes throughout the Middle Ages. As part of the great Kipchak confederation, they played a central role in the politics and warfare of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, maintaining intense interactions with the Russians, Byzantines, and Mongols. #phenotype #ancientdna #anthropology #turkic #kipchak
