i also suggest soaking the porta filter in very hot water to help clean it better. Also run at least two pulls through the machine before making a cup of coffee after cleaning to make sure all the cleaner is gone. 💕 - barista here ♡

I also like to refill the tank with clean fresh water and run 2–3 cycles of plain water from group head and steam wand to make sure all the descaler is flushed out from inside the machine (:

if you want to get more cleaning they also sell a grinder cleaner for your bean hopper if you want a better quality tasting coffee. you could clean it the bean hopper and run a few shots so you get the cleaner out the hoppers while also getting the descale cleaner out with some test shots

I just read the manual cause I just got my machine. Just saying that it says to only descale when the cleaning light is solid on. If it’s flashing you just do a cleaning cycle, not descale. But do whatever you want I just feel like you’re doing a lot of work when you don’t have to.

to do the porta filter back flush you need to change your porta filter to dual wall and put the suction cover. Also for descaling you need to use descaling powder. The tablets are for the porta filter back flush (cleaning) not descaling. I just don't want your machine to break😊

Hi! Cafiza doesn’t go into the water reservoir—it’s not a descaler. You could ruin your machine’s warranty by doing this. Cafiza is meant to clean coffee oils, not scale. Cafiza is basically the same detergent that you’re putting into your portafilter when you clean it. Urnex does make a descaling powder called Dezcal.

I haven't descale I have just put the tablet on the rubber and done a clean I barely got mine in November and barely started using it on a daily around January.
