I had a water birth, it was so calm. I had no other pain medication, the warm water honestly eased all the aches. I didn't find labour painful at all, just uncomfortable. My mindset was that I wanted my baby and he had to come out so just get on with it. I promise not all labours are like the horror stories you hear! I had a very positive birth with my son (he's now 11) 💙

I had a lovely birth! It is so possible your body is amazing at what it does embrace it❤️I didn’t even consider it very painful and I was unmedicated

Just a NICE fyi, mine went exactly to plan besides water birth. Only gas and air and it was MAGICAL🥰🥰🥰 not all are horror stories🩷

Whatever happens happens and if you need meds you need meds if you don’t you don’t!!! Best idea to go in not wanting anything but don’t ever get yourself down if you have to!❤️

You can plan all you want and need fpr some its comforting to have that plan but always make it a part of the plan that everything might change when you are giving birth

Look into a birthing comb 🪮 was a good send for me 💙 it’s like a hair comb that you squeeze during contractions and it’s supposed to be like acupressure or something xxx

Having given birth 7 weeks ago, I honestly believe thinking about the birth in advance as ‘preferences’ over a ‘plan’ helped me massively when things didn’t go quite as I would had hoped. Not having my heart set on anything in particular really helped when things went differently to I had expected, and really just having an open mind is the best advice I could give!

Manifesting ur perfect birth for u but if for whatever reason u need a c section (touch wood u don’t!!) just wanted to reassure u and give u a positive experience I’ve had 2 and they have been amazing I was laughing with the drs throughout and recovery for me was really quick ! But I rlly hope u get the birth u want xx

Does your hospital not have a birth centre within it? Mine does so I planned for birth centre but got moved down to labour ward when things started going wrong!

I thought of my birth preferences more of an order of how I want things to happen. For example, first pan relief you want to try down to your last resort, first preference of induction down to your last etc

Mine went out the window before I even got to hospital but so worth having a clear mind and making your decisions and discussing with your partner what if this happens etc. I would still make a birth plan if I had a second regardless. You’ve got this 💕

Having the plan/preference there even tho I didn’t end up using it was good for me, they put me in a water birth room even tho I didn’t get to use it, it’s nice to have your preference acknowledged

As someone who’s had two children, my first birth being awful and my second being amazing I think the way you think is incredible. Keeping an open mind is a great mindset to have. It means you are less likely to panic if for whatever reason something doesn’t quite go to plan. Wishing you an incredible birth mama! X

Ignore me if it’s already been said in the other comments but it’s worth looking at the options available in your nearly hospitals as you might find that one of them has a midwife lead delivery unit that is attached to the midwife+doctor unit - this is what my hospital offer. I can no longer do this due to a small complication with my baby but my plan was to go into the midwife lead unit and if anything was to go a bit sideways or if I wanted pain relief, I basically just would have been wheeled down the corridor for it. Your midwife will be able to advise. Obviously if you’re set on midwife+doctor then you do you ☺️but it might give you an easier access to birth pool if it’s something you want 🥰

I absolutely loved my birth so much ❤️It was so magical and I feel so lucky to have had the most amazing midwives and my husband to support me throughout. I chose to have a water birth, did my hypnobirthing and used a comb and it helped me so much! I also wrote a birth plan and pretty much stuck to most of it so I 100% agree with you when you say you want to have one as well!! Btw can I just say you are looking absolutely beautiful 🥰 Pregnancy looks amazing on you! Sending love to you and your gorgeous little one 🥰 xx
